61st Sapporo Snow Festival

The Sapporo Snow Festival is one of the Japan's largest winter events, and attracts about two million people including forty thousand people from abroad every year. Admission is free in any venue and the hundreds of beautiful snow statues and ice sculptures are decorated. These are illuminated at night and fantastic. These statues are made by volunteer citizen and members of Self-Defense. In recent years foreigners also participated.

Period: February 5, 2010 - February 11
Venue: Odori Park, Susukino and the grounds at Community Dome Tsudomeone
Traffic: Bus is available from JR Sapporo Station to Odori Park and Susukino. Shuttle bus between Odori Park, Susukino and Community Dome Tsudomeone is operated.
● (From Tokyo): 90 minutes flight from Haneda Airport to New Chitose Airport and 40 minutes by JR Line from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo Station
