Ice Festival at Lake Saiko and Kawaguchiko
The air during the winter is clear and it is a great time to see Mt. Fuji. In addition it is a double opportunity to enjoy Mt Fuji view and ice sculptures at "Kawaguchiko Ice Festival" and "Saiko Juhyo Festival"(silver frost). At night under the stars, the sculptures are illuminated and these objects look fantastic. On Saturday and Sunday at Lake Kawaguchiko, you can watch the fireworks in winter. Period: January 23, 2010 - February 14 Venue: Saiko, Yachounomori Koen; Kawaguchiko, Oike Koen Traffic: (from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko) 105 minutes by express bus from Shinjuku Station bus terminal. About 30 minutes by bus between Kawaguchiko and Saiko.
