Koriyama

Koriyama City is located in the center of Fukushima Prefecture and second largest city in the Tohoku region. The Adatara mountains are to the north, Lake Inawashiro is to the west, and the Abukuma highlands are to the east. A dry wind blows throughout the year. The Nunobiki Plateau Wind Farm is located within the city limits of Koriyama along the side of Lake Inawashiro at an altitude of 1080 m. The station is to be the largest wind generating station in Japan, and has 33 wind turbines. Koriyama City is designated as the sacred place for lovers in 2008, and becoming one of the major sightseeing spots.
