Sengen taisha shrine

The Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha is a Shinto shrine in the city of Fujinomiya in Shizuoka Prefecture. It was built in 806 by the Empero and is the head shrine of the 1300 Asama or Sengen shrines in the country and the center of Fuji Faith. In addition, the entire top of Mount Fuji from the 8th stage upwards is considered to be part of the shrine grounds. Fujinomiya Yakisoba (dry noodle) is famous throughout the country and it is sold in front of Sengen Taisha, called Yakisoba "Yokocho " (squares).
